GSIS grants longer grace period for HELP borrowers in Yolanda areas

Vergara announced that the pension fund is extending the grace period for the payment of amortization of Home Emergency Loan Program (HELP) borrowers in Yolanda-hit areas until November this year. “We hope that the deferment of the collection due date under HELP will enable our members in Yolanda-hit areas to focus their resources in rebuilding their homes and going back to their normal lives”, Vergara said.

Date Posted: May 12, 2014 State pension fund Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) extended the loan moratorium period from May 2014 to October 2014 for some 300,000 members and pensioners either living or working in the 126 areas severely affected by typhoon Yolanda.
