GSIS grants longer grace period for HELP borrowers in Yolanda areas

Vergara announced that the pension fund is extending the grace period for the payment of amortization of Home Emergency Loan Program (HELP) borrowers in Yolanda-hit areas until November this year. “We hope that the deferment of the collection due date under HELP will enable our members in Yolanda-hit areas to focus their resources in rebuilding their homes and going back to their normal lives”, Vergara said.

Date Posted: May 15, 2014 More than 200,000 Yolanda-hit members and pensioners benefited from the emergency financial assistance package of the Government Service Insurance System with total disbursements grossing Php13.9 billion from November 2013 to May 8, 2014. “GSIS answered the President’s call for government financial institutions to extend whatever assistance they could to aid in the recovery efforts of the government,” President and General Manager Robert Vergara said.

GSIS extends H.E.L.P, covers more Yolanda-hit areas

Date Posted: May 12, 2014 State pension fund Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) extended the implementation of the Home Emergency Loan Program (HELP) to October this year, and expanded the coverage of the program to include an additional 34 areas worst-hit by Yolanda. HELP, a one-time special loan program, aims to enable GSIS members and pensioners to rebuild their homes in communities that were hardest hit by super typhoon Yolanda.
