GSIS to pay pending work-related medical claims

Date Posted: August 26, 2016 GSIS is now processing all qualified employee compensation (EC) medical reimbursement claims that were filed before 22 December 2013 by members who sustained work-connected diseases or accidents. The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) approved the payment of the pending EC claims on 1 July 2016 via Board Resolution (BR) No. 16-05-19. GSIS resumes payment of EC survivorship benefit

State pension fund Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) today announced that it will start paying the suspended survivorship pension of qualified Employees’ Compensation (EC) pensioners and dependents, after the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC), resolved to lift the suspension of its payment beyond the five-year guaranteed period.
