Advisory on GSIS Measures to help contain CoVid-19

In compliance with Proclamation Nos. 929 and 922 (series 2020) and R.A. 11332, the Management of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is hereby adopting the following measures in order to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus:

  1. The GSIS Head Office in Pasay City will be closed to the public from 16 March 2020 to 12 April 2020;
  2. All GSIS branch offices and extension offices nationwide will likewise be closed to the public until 12 April 2020;
  3. All GSIS executives and employees nationwide, except for the Security Department and other designated personnel, are instructed to work from home to ensure the timely delivery of services including pension payments. All prior skeletal staffing and rotational work arrangements are hereby revoked;
  4. The GSIS Management would like to assure its pensioners that they will be receiving their pensions on time;
  5. Effective 17 March 2020, the following GSIS operations are temporarily suspended nationwide:
    • Filing and processing of loans and benefit claims;
    • Filing and processing of non-life insurance claims. For renewal of property insurance policies requested on or before 17 March 2020, a cover note will be issued for a period of 60 days to provide continuity of cover;
    • Filing and processing of GFAL (GSIS Financial Assistance Loan) applications is suspended for two (2) months starting 14 March 2020. Consequently, GFAL program will be extended to 30 September 2020;
    • Processing of requests for renewal of active status (APIR) of pensioners residing locally and abroad;
    • A one-month grace period is hereby granted on all premium remittances and loan payments due this March. Premium remittances and loan payments due on March and April may be settled on or before 10 May 2020 without any penalty; and
    • A one-month grace period is also granted on all housing loan amortization and rental payments for investment properties due for March 2020. Payments due for the months of March and April 2020 may be settled on or before 10 May 2020, without penalty.

Individual members and pensioners may access their membership records and pension status on the Internet via the eGSISMO platform, or via the nearest GSIS kiosk located in their area.
