Airplanes and helicopters owned by the government while in flight, taxiing, on ground or moored must be insured with GSIS against direct physical loss or damage.

The GSIS Aviation insurance also covers third party liability, passenger personal accident, crew and pilot personal accident, including but not limited to war, hijacking, and the like.

The GSIS aviation insurance covers the following:

  • Hull All Risks – covers loss or damage to the aircraft while the aircraft is:
    • In-Flight
    • Taxiing
    • On the ground
    • Moored
  • Liability to Third Parties
  • Liability to Passengers
  • Personal Accident to Crew (Pilot/Co-Pilot) Hull War Risk

The power of security of each government aircraft is also given by GSIS.

Requirements

(1) Duly filled out questionnaire and proposal form indicating the following (1 copy, original):

  • Assured’s name
  • Assured’s mailing address
  • Amount of Insurance
  • Hull Value
  • Third Party Liability
  • Amount of coverage for crew/passengers
  • Technical Description of the Aircraft
  • Year of Manufacture
  • Make and type of aircraft
  • Number of crew/passenger
Renewal

  1. Renewal Policy – Aviation Hull
    1. Letter Request for renewal/extension (1 copy, original)
    2. Amendment in the insurance cover, if any (1 copy, original)
  2. Renewal Policy – Aviation Liability
    1. Letter Request for renewal/extension (1 copy, original)
    2. Amendment in the insurance cover, if any (1 copy, original)
Step by Step Procedure on how to apply

  1. Prepare the other necessary requirements.
  2. Fill out a Letter Request
  3. Submit the application to any of the following:
    1. Via Email: marketing@gsis.gov.ph or to any GSIS branch office nationwide. For complete list, click here (embed link)
    2. Via Dropbox: Any GSIS Office nationwide
    3. Via OTC (Over-the-Counter): Any GSIS Office nationwide
