New old-age or survivorship pensioners need to enroll for an eCard / UMID Card to avail of their benefits. They may also apply for a temporary card while waiting for the release of their eCard / UMID Card.
Enrolling for eCard / UMID Card / Temporary Card issued by the Union Bank of the Philippines (for pensioners based in the country)
- Bring two valid government-issued IDs (examples: LTO license, PRC license, passport, voter’s registration ID) to a GSIS office nearest you
- Accomplish an eCard enrollment form and submit to the GSIS personnel assigned in the eCard enrollment area. In the eCard/UMID enrollment form, choose the Union Bank of the Philippines (UBP), as preferred servicing bank (Unionbank Branches).
- GSIS will send a text message to the pensioner citing where he/she can get the UMID or Temporary Card.
Enrolling for eCard / UMID Card / Temporary Card issued by the Land Bank of the Philippines (for pensioners based in the country)
- Bring two valid government-issued IDs (examples: LTO license, PRC license, passport, voter’s registration ID) to a GSIS office nearest you.
- Accomplish an eCard enrollment form and submit to the GSIS personnel assigned in the eCard enrollment area. In the eCard/UMID enrollment form, choose the Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) as preferred servicing bank (LANDBANK Branches).
- GSIS will send a text message to the pensioner citing where he/she can get the eCard / UMID or Temporary Card.
Reminder: Pensioners who opted for LANDBANK as servicing branch will no longer be allowed to transfer their UMID accounts back to UBP.
Upon receiving theCard/ UMID Card (both issued by UBP and LANDBANK)
- Go to any GSIS Wireless Activated Processing System (G-W@PS) kiosk located at the nearest provincial capitol, city hall, selected municipal offices, government offices, GSIS branch offices and Robinsons Malls.
- Place the eCard on the G-W@PS Kiosk card reader.
- Touch the screen to select any of pre-registered fingers.
- Put the selected finger very lightly on the fingerprint scanner to activate the eCard/UMID Card.
Upon receiving the Temporary eCard
- Present two valid government IDs to the frontline lobby officer for the manual activation of the eCard.
For those who transferred from UBP to LANDBANK
- LANDBANK will send a text message informing the pensioner that the eCard is ready for pick up
- Present two valid government IDs when claiming the LANDBANK-issued card.
- The card is activated immediately upon receipt.
Other Reminders
- If the selected finger fails to get scanned, simply select another pre-registered finger.
- The eCard needs only to be activated once upon receipt.
- Pensioners who opted for LANDBANK as servicing bank will no longer be allowed to transfer their UMID account back to UBP.
