Beginning October 17, more than 107,000 Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) members and nearly 15,000 pensioners based in Pasig, Pateros, Taguig, Marikina, and Rizal province need not make the trip to the GSIS Head Office in Pasay City to transact with the pension fund.
GSIS President and General Manager Robert G. Vergara announced that the pension fund will open an extension office in Pasig City tomorrow “to make our services more accessible to our pensioners and active members in Pasig and surrounding areas.”
The Pasig office will serve a total of 107,838 active members. Of this number, 73 percent is accounted for by the personnel of the Department of Education.
The GSIS Extension Office will be housed in the upper ground floor of the JNCV Building in Pasig Boulevard corner Rosemary Lane, Pasig City.
All types of GSIS claims and benefits covering retirement, loans, and life insurance, such as cash surrender value (amount to be paid to members when they are separated before the maturity of their life insurance policies), maturity, death, survivorship, and funeral will be accepted and processed in the Pasig office.
The office has a pensioners’ lounge to cater to the needs of pensioners, as well as an eCard enrolment and releasing center.
A booth will also be available to accept remittances from covered local government units and national agencies, as well as three GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) kiosks where members may electronically apply for loans, check their loan balances, request for tentative computations of their loan proceeds, and update their records.
With the opening of the Pasig Extension Office, GSIS now has three offices in Metro Manila, along with the head office in Pasay City and the GSIS Quezon City Branch in Mindanao Avenue, Quezon City. The pension fund has 42 branch offices and 35 service desks deployed across the nation.
Members and pensioners may call the GSIS Pasig Extension Office at (02) 859.0218.
