GSIS dialogue with agency heads and AAOs in Tacloban. GSIS officials and employees met on Wednesday with more than 200 agency heads and agency authorized officers in Tacloban to discuss the GSIS emergency relief package to provide assistance to members and pensioners who are either living or working in the 126 areas severely damaged by super typhoon Yolanda. These programs include the six-month loan moratorium program which grants an automatic deferment of all loan payments without interest and penalties, the home emergency loan program or HELP under which members may borrow up to Php200,000 depending on their total length of service, the enhanced emergency loan program which raised credit limit to Php40,000 for members who have outstanding balance on their previous emergency loan, and a new Php20,000 loan window for pensioners called the pension emergency loan. The dialogue is the first in a series of information caravans GSIS will conduct in the Visayas region. In 2013, GSIS released Php5.7 billion in emergency loans covering nearly 304,000 members and a total of Php170.4 million in pension emergency loans for more than 8,600 pensioners.
