GSIS among top GOCC achievers in the Corporate Governance Scorecard

Date Posted: December 5, 2017

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) received an award of excellence in the Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS) from the Governance Commission for Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GCG) in ceremonies held at the Dusit Thani Manila, Makati City, last November 24. Of the 90 government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs) assessed for the CGS, GSIS ranked seventh among those that earned the highest scores. The state pension fund was particularly cited for consultative and transparent relationship with its stakeholders by actively engaging its members and pensioners in regular dialogues conducted across the country. The CGS was established on October 8, 2015 to evaluate the governance performance of GOCCs and recognize well-governed corporations among them. It uses a methodology benchmarked against the Principles of Corporate Governance of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard.
